2. Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the use of this website, the free stock-screening service offered on this website, one-time result delivery by email, and optional email subscriptions and recurring result delivery. The service is provided free of charge.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Fly.io, Inc., 2261 Market Street #4990, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. The provider processes the technical access data described in Section 4(c) on our behalf as a processor under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR, solely for the purpose of providing and securing the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Personal Data We Process

a) One-Time Use (No Subscription)

The entered email address is used exclusively for one-time delivery of the requested results. It is not stored, not logged, and not added to any mailing list, and it is deleted immediately after the email has been sent. No further processing or retention takes place.

b) Email Subscription (Optional)

If you voluntarily subscribe, we process your email address, the subscription timestamp, and your confirmation and unsubscribe status. We use a double opt-in procedure: after entering your email address you receive a confirmation email, and your subscription becomes active only after you confirm it. We store the confirmation timestamp to document your consent.

c) Technical Data (Website Access)

When you access the website, the following technical data may be processed: IP address (shortened or anonymized as early as technically possible), date and time of access, browser and device information, and referrer URL.

5. Purpose of Data Processing

Personal data is processed only for: one-time delivery of requested stock-screening results (without storage); providing the optional subscription-based service; sending screening results by email; managing subscriptions and unsubscribes; ensuring website security and technical stability; and analyzing internal traffic statistics to improve the website.

6. Legal Basis (GDPR)

Data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent, for the email subscription) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in technical operation, security, and internal traffic analysis). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

7. Cookies and Access to Terminal Devices

This website uses only data that is technically necessary to operate and secure the site. We do not set non-essential cookies, and we do not store or access information on your terminal device beyond what is strictly necessary for the operation of the website. No consent under § 25 (1) TDDDG is therefore required.

8. Email Communication

One-Time Emails

For one-time use, the provided email address is used only once, is not stored after delivery, and no follow-up emails are sent.

Subscription Emails

Subscription emails are sent via Google Workspace / Gmail (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC). Emails are only sent to users who have explicitly subscribed and confirmed via double opt-in. Every email contains a clear unsubscribe option, and you may unsubscribe at any time without giving reasons.

9. International Data Transfers

Our email service provider Google (Google Workspace / Gmail) may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. Such transfers are safeguarded on the basis of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, and/or on the basis of EU Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR.

10. No Sale of Data; Recipients

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Personal data is not disclosed to advertisers, data brokers, or other external parties. Data is processed only by our hosting provider and our email service provider (Google Workspace / Gmail), strictly for the technical purposes described above and in compliance with the GDPR.

11. Internal Traffic Tracking (No Third-Party Analytics)

This website uses private, self-hosted traffic measurement exclusively to understand general website usage. We use no third-party analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), no advertising tracking, no cross-site tracking, and no profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

12. Data Retention

For one-time use, email addresses are not stored and are deleted immediately after sending. For subscriptions, email addresses are stored only as long as the subscription is active; after you unsubscribe, your email address is deleted or anonymized without undue delay. Technical log data is stored only for a short period for security purposes and is then deleted after 30 days.

13. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21), to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)), and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77). The supervisory authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg. Requests can be sent to customer-support@backseatalpha.com.

14. Data Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Data transmission over the internet (e.g. communication by email) can have security gaps; complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

15. Private Use Only / No Redistribution

All information, results, and data provided on this website and via email are intended for private use only. You are not permitted to redistribute, resell, publish, or forward any provided information or results to third parties without prior written consent.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
